Hi, I'm Ets.
I've worked as a graphic designer for roughly 8 yrs, but my education is in comics / sequential art and I do illustration work on the side. Sometimes I like to go crazy with techniques like linolium carving or embroidery, but mostly I work with fineliners, markers, ink, aquarell or digital tools. As soon as work is over I transform into a supermagical nerd of fantasy, sci-fi, horror, steampunk, japanese popkulture, videogames and all things cute or morbid.
I've been at dA since my comic school days, but for a few years now I've not been actively posting art myself. I remain here atm to follow up on all my favourite artists - I do, however, have a plan to be active again when I feel right about it.
News about my art will always pop up here! I post art challenge material on my twitter and I do have a private instagram where I post all kinds of whatever I feel like, cute animals and nature photo mainly. My ArtStation went up recently so no art there yet but soon! Please check them out if you are interested :)
Funny anecdote for all young ppl who struggle with parents or teachers not understanding your calling to nerd-related activities: One time, around when I was about 14-15 yrs old, my art teacher (who was very supportive on a daily basis) said to me something like "You are a good [art]student, and eventually you'll grow out of that manga-style" like it was a bad thing. It was the only time I got pissed at him and BOY WAS HE WRONG! Haha, bless him, he probably didn't even know what he was talking about - I'm not even sure I know what he was getting at. Sure I drew a lot of Sailor Moon-inspired stuff(a LOT) but it wasn't like I copied a style(as you all know "manga" is not an artstyle in itself) and in the end, that was what made me want to work harder and eventually it took me to comic school where my grownup life started out. I believe it changed my life, because I didn't stop drawing "manga" just because someone told me it wasn't fancy enough. Don't let anyone tell you that a style or an interest is too childish or too ugly or too shallow. It can become your whole career if you fight hard enough!
